FitBits Customer News – Jan 2016

FitBits news Jan 16

FitBits news Jan 16

Hi & thanks for being a fitbits.com customer.

Jodie and I (Anthony) want to give you a bit of an update on what’s changing, why & what is not changing.

What has changed at Fitbits?

  1. First cab off the rank is that Jodie & I are the new owners of FitBits.com. Who are we you ask – we are a Mum and Dad business not a corporation. That is important to you as we are serious about service and are not at all a profit first business. We want to earn your business the good old fashioned way. High quality products at fair prices.
  2. Shipping orders out is both super expensive and frustrating for you and us when lost. We are in the process of moving to Post StarTrack so that you can get your delivery Australia wide in a Parcel Locker, PO Box & have good track and trace when things go wrong. Over Christmas it was a nightmare on Fastway street. There will be a slight increase in costs but we hope you understand there is a difference between low cost and “cheap and nasty”.
  3. New website & options. We have moved over to a new website that allows us to do a few more things to serve you better. We are setting up a VIP Club, offering payment via credit card, (WooCommerce did a major update today & as I write that is not working), we are in process of setting up the subscription plans, stack deals, blog, FAQ’s and the 10 & 20 kg options are being removed from eBay to live here. It will also help us better manage inventory and that is our priority at the moment. Build inventories so we are there when you need us with no stock outs. (Christmas was extra hard as suppliers shut down pretty much for 4 weeks. Worst time to take over!!)

What is not changing at Fitbits.

  1. The ingredients and formulations are the same as have been refined since 2006. We know how hard it is to find stevia sweetened protein powders, let alone stevia sweetened protein supplements that don’t have a bitter after taste. We have a list of ingredients that will never be in our supplements.
  2. We are the clean skin “non brand” brand. We don’t have big advertising budgets, nor celebrity endorsements or team athletes. We rely on your word of mouth to tell others about fitbits should we deserve it. (The first rule of fight club is??) Like the unapproved ingredients list, we have a list of marketing buzz words not to use. (There are a couple on the listings I’m not 100% comfortable with but they are up there from when we took over.. watch this space.)
  3. If you haven’t ever bought from us – We are not in the business of throwing junk at you like shakers, t-shirts etc to try to get you to buy our stuff. We won’t beg for your business nor do the one off extra special deals we are regularly asked for “if you want my business”. The philosophy is this. Our products are worth every $ you pay for them. They are high quality. They deserve that price and by us grovelling, it is disrespectful both to you, the products and ourselves. If you go through life with people constantly giving you stuff (you don’t need & probably don’t want) you get soft and not work for it. That makes you weaker not stronger. Bit like rather than going to the gym to get a 6 pack, a plastic surgeon gives you lippo for free. I respect people who work for & get results they deserve.
(Getting something post purchase is a different story. Like when it is as a thank you or recognition of being a loyal customer.)

Anyway, over to you. What should we

  1. Stop doing,
  2. Start doing or
  3. Keep on doing?

Please leave a comment below.

Thanks

Anthony
