So where do we start??
It has to be with an apology as the news we are going to share will mean that some customers will leave us.
We are sorry that we have had to revise prices.
The reason for reviewing prices was that we have been selling products below cost on some lines, most notably 10 kg and 20 kg protein lines.
This explains why after three months of owning the business we have lost about $30,000 and not been able to replenish stock as quickly as we would like to.
Jodie also hasn’t been paid for working 12 hr days for the last few months.
We knew when we purchased the business that it was a low price point business and we will stay true to this mantra.
“Maximum nutrition without the junk” for low prices.
That is why we have faced 2 difficult choices this weekend.
- Raise prices to cover costs and set a price lower than in store or other online businesses selling similar quality products, or
- Reduce product quality, downgrading ingredients, adding fillers & no longer offer free shipping.
We chose the first option but this means we are not the cheapest in the market anymore.
We have had a look at a number of other sellers and we suspect their low sugar formulations also have high fillers. i.e the junk.
We hope that you will support our decision as the right thing to do.
We have plans to improve the quality of information and service to you.
Some things in the service road map are:
- Addition of a 3 tier buffer of stock to prevent stock outs, so you can order when you like and get what you want fast.
- Quarterly nutritional testing of products including plate counts to make sure you are getting what you pay for. The results will be published here.
- Nutritional labels for each flavour rather than an average product line label.
- Subscription plans that will have discounts from the pricing that went live today. (Some products did actually go down in price.)
- Australia Post shipping to locations outside of the Fastway local zone.
- Delivery to PO Boxes for no extra charge.
- New flavours for the pea protein line – strawberry and iced coffee.
Again we are truly sorry as we know we are about to say goodbye to some of you.
